This Mawlek presents the same Infected state. Upon defeat, the Infection bursts out of the Mawlek, making it explode.Īnother one can be fought alone during one of the waves of the Trial of the Fool at the Colosseum. It attacks the Knight as soon as they enter its room by jumping from the background. This wild beast was driven mad both by its loneliness and the Infection which started covering its body with bulbs. It sits amidst fossilised remains of its kind and calls for them to breed. One lone Brooding Mawlek can be found off-road in the Forgotten Crossroads(Infected Crossroads), far from its living brethren in the Ancient Basin. Beating him grants the Rivalry achievement. He is quite inept in combat and regularly messes up his jumps. He simply has to be attacked until the fight is over. As a boss, he deals no damage due to his nail being made of shellwood. He then becomes the final boss of the first trial. If the Knight saves him both times, he is captured and can be found in the resting area of the Colosseum of Fools, where he brags about his skills and how his capture was part of his plan. If saved, he once again complains about the Knight meddling in his supposed heroics. Once again the Knight has the choice to either save him or leave him, though this time leaving him does not result in his death. He has forgotten the Knight and introduces himself again.įound stuck in spider webs, presumably having been captured by the beasts of Deepnest. Zote can be found in a corridor leading back to the storerooms of the City of Tears. If he is saved in Greenpath, Zote shows up in Dirtmouth, where he once again talks to the Knight in an arrogant fashion. Hitting his shell here grants the Neglect achievement. If he is not saved before acquiring the Mantis Claw, he dies in this location, with his nail and shell remaining. If saved, he complains that the Knight got in the way between him and his "prey", he introduces himself and boasts about his supposed mighty deeds. He is held in the mandibles of a Vengefly King, and the Knight has the choice to either save him or leave him. He regards the Knight as beneath him and accuses them of constantly getting in his way.įound along the path leading to Greenpath. While he claims to be the strongest warrior in the land, he is found trapped by weak enemies or claiming the glory of another bug's deeds. Unfortunately, because it is made of shellwood, it cannot deal damage. He named his nail "Life Ender" because names supposedly have power. This is ultimately revealed to be a promise of glory for himself. Talk to Quirrel, then head left and destroy the wooden bracing to unlock a shortcut back to Queen’s Station, then head inside to begin your journey through the Teacher’s Archives.Zote is a traveller from outside Hallownest who came to the Kingdom to fulfill a promise. Proceed left, through the next area, then take the left exit and you’ll arrive at the Teacher’s Archives. Wait for an opening, then dash through, head down the shaft, and take the exit on the left side. You’ll emerge into a vertical shaft where small swarms of Lumaflies regularly coalesce to create electrical outbursts. Tons of tiny Uoma enemies are scattered throughout the area, so proceed carefully and avoid the explosive orange bubbles sitting on the floor, then hop across the platforms or swim through the acid and take the right side exit. Use the Shade Cloak to jet through it, then ascend the platforms to reach a small alcove at the top of the screen.īuy the map from Cornifer, then hop back down the platforms and take the exit on the right, into the next area. In this area, hop across the platforms and you’ll soon reach a vertical black beam which blocks the way forward. The next area has acid and a number of explosive Ooma enemies, so climb the shaft cautiously and take the top right exit. Hop all the way up the vertical shaft and take the top left exit into the next area. In this area, you’ll have to deal with explosive enemies, so use caution (especially if you have attacking companion Charms), and heal often. Now that we have the Shade Cloak, we can obtain the Fog Canyon map. Hop up the platforms and take the top left exit into Fog Canyon. From the Bench, head right and into the main Stagway area. Once you awaken, return to the King’s Station Stagway and take the Stag to Queen’s Station. Channel Soul to absorb their essence and bring an end to the dream. Use the Dream Nail to enter Lurien’s dream, then follow the platforms to the right and slash Lurien with the Nail until they give up the ghost. Head left and take the elevator all the way to the top, then head right and you’ll find Lurien the Watcher, sleeping on a slab. Follow the path left, then wall-jump up the shaft and take the exit into the area above. Having defeated the Watcher Knights, head right out of the boss arena and wall-jump up to the next level.
